This post is a part of a series on our blog called “Wolfe Creek Wednesday”. Each Wednesday, we’ll be posting a fun fact, story, or a newsworthy piece of information about Wolfe Creek Preserve that we think you’ll find interesting! Although we’re best known for our world-class zipline course, our beautiful facility is also home to an array of indoor and outdoor activities, rich history, and a natural setting that we take great care to protect. We’re excited to have you join us each Wednesday so we can share more about our mission to make Wolfe Creek Preserve a place where people of all ages can have fun adventures and make lasting memories with loved ones!
Fourth of July
If you’ve got high hopes or apple pie hopes for the Fourth of July, make sure your dreams come true by soaring through stunning Ozark skies on the Fourth of July! We are so excited to celebrate the Fourth of July, but our world-class nature preserve and zipline course can’t be complete without our guests gliding effortlessly like fireworks or ambling down our mile-and-a-half nature trail like ants toward a picnic. Consider this our formal invitation (not that you need one) to come spend part of the Fourth of July with us!!
Whether you’re searching for more excitement than the finale at the national fireworks display or looking for a low-key celebration, we have every activity at Wolfe Creek Preserve to make your Independence day special. If you’re looking for a burst of adrenaline before you watch the fireworks with family, be sure to check out our zipline tour options, which include the Ozarks Xplorer Canopy Tour and the Flying Prospector Canopy Tour. Both tours feature a Pinzgauer ride to the top of Wolfe Creek Mountain and a series of exhilarating zip lines that are perfect for family and friends to experience together. Additionally, we offer both of these tours at night, meaning that you could spend the evening of the Fourth of July ziplining with us! Along with gazing up at the starry night sky from our towers and zip lines, you can scan the horizon for fireworks as you soar on your own adventure! In order to book these night tours, check out our Xplorer in the Dark and Prospector in the Dark options in the tours section of our website.
Both the Ozarks Xplorer and the Flying Prospector Canopy Tour are exciting on their own, but if you’re looking for the grand finale to any tour, check out our Blue Streak Fast Line and Free Fall Xpress. This 30-45 minute tour is our most action-packed: guests are transported to the mid-point of Wolfe Creek Mountain where they soar a quarter of a mile toward a 100-foot tower called Everest. Once on Everest, guests walk off a platform to experience a 100-foot free fall simulation! It’s the perfect grand finale to any of our exciting outdoor adventures!
If your ideal Fourth of July is slower paced than a fireworks display, be sure to check out our Wolfe Creek Photo Safari Guided Walking Tour. On this tour, guests are transported to the top of Wolfe Creek Mountain in one of our Pinzgauer vehicles. Once at the top of the mountain, guests follow one of our knowledgeable guides on a leisurely walk down a meandering trail. Pause to watch zipline enthusiasts soar overhead, snap pictures of squirrels foraging in the trees, and pose for family photos next to historic bridges and mining implements left behind by the Wolfe family who originally settled the property. Halfway through the one-and-a-half mile stroll, guests pause at our mid-mountain snack area to enjoy our Birdseed Brittle Bars and a refreshing bottle of water before continuing through the Oak and Ash tree lined mulch walking trail to finish the hike.
No matter what tour you take we encourage you to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty of this part of the country during the Fourth of July. In order to enjoy the outdoors, spend quality bonding time with friends and family, and fulfill your apple-pie-in-the-sky hopes for this Fourth of July, be sure to book a tour as soon as possible to spend part of your day with us. During this season of the year our tours are consistently booked to maximum capacity so we highly encourage guests to book early! Visit our website to learn more about tours and to reserve your spot for the Fourth of July. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday and hope to see you at Wolfe Creek Preserve!
