We’re starting a new series on our blog called “Wolfe Creek Wednesday”. Each Wednesday, we’ll be posting a fun fact, story, or a newsworthy piece of information about Wolfe Creek Preserve that we think you’ll find interesting! Although we’re best known for our world-class zipline course, our beautiful facility is also home to an array of indoor and outdoor activities, rich history, and a natural setting that we take great care to protect. We’re excited to have you join us each Wednesday so we can share more about our mission to make Wolfe Creek Preserve a place where people of all ages can have fun adventures and make lasting memories with loved ones!
Mid-Mountain Snack Break
We customize many aspects of our tours to accommodate visitors and one of our favorite moments of each tour is the mid-mountain snack break. The snack break is a great chance to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery halfway through our Xplorer Zipline Tour and Wolfe Creek Photo Safari Walking Tour. Along with our goals of enjoying the outdoors, we are committed to supporting other businesses who are as committed to their craft as we are to ours, which is why we’re excited to announce that we now purchase our snack products from a grass-roots company called Wild Flour Bakery. Owner Dolly and her husband Greg make bread, granola, and brittle bars that they serve in their bakeries! We love the wholesome, nutritious ingredients that they use to make the Bird Seed Brittle Bars so much that we’ve decided to serve these bars to each guest on our Xplorer Zipline Tour and walking tours. Made from a delicious blend of pumpkin, sesame, and sunflower seeds, sweetened slightly with natural sugars, and flavored with accents of honey, cream, and vanilla, these bars will make you want to climb to the top of the mountain just so you can come back to the snack spot and enjoy another!
If you find yourself loving these brittle bars as much as we do, you can stock your pantry full of them by purchasing them from Wolfe Creek Station, our store on site. We now proudly carry an array of Wild Flour Bakery products such as Almond Brittle, Ultimate Irresistible Granola, Harvest Granola, Ole Mole Brittle Bars, and Dark Chocolate Almond Granola. Whether you’re a chocoholic or a tropical-coconut-lover, or just a plain ole’ vanilla kind of character, there is a delicious and nutritious snack for you to purchase in our gift shop! We love Wild Flour and are so excited to feature their products as part of our tours. With a motto like “Go Local, Go Green, Go Wild” on each of Wild Flour’s products, you know it must be good!
If you thought it couldn’t get any better than an exceptional snack on every tour, we’d like to share the exact spot where you’ll get to enjoy your Wild Flour Bakery bar! Nestled midway up Wolfe Creek Mountain, our snack spot features a central fire pit. Around the fire pit are benches and cozy rocks for guests to prop their feet up, chat with friends and family, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. While you sip on a refreshing bottle of water and a wholesome and delicious Bird Seed Brittle Bar that we provide, you might see some of our incredible natural flora and fauna around you. There are always deer and fawns wandering the property, squirrels flinging themselves from tree to tree, box turtles making their way steadily toward Wolfe Creek, and various wildflowers blossoming on the sloping sides of the mountain. Taking a moment to sit and enjoy refreshments, family, friends, the stories of the guides, and the great outdoors are all reasons that we love to offer snack and refreshment breaks to guests participating in our zipline and walking tours at Wolfe Creek Preserve.
Even if you elect not to take a zipline or walking tour, we’ve still got you covered in the snack department. If you decide to spend the day shopping in Wolfe Creek Station, lounging on one of our many balconies, or mining for precious gemstones at our Ol’ Blue Mining center, we’ve still got great food for you to nibble on throughout the day. Some people don’t realize that in addition to our renowned selection of merchandise such as Amish goods, cookbooks, Branson Zipline souvenir items, toys, antiques, and jewelry, we also sell ice-cold soda, bottled water, candy, chips, and many other refreshing snacks that might just be perfect to munch on while watching friends or family zip through the skies on their tour.
